hi !
i am trying to keep this as anonymous as possible. i want to be an sgrho sooooo bad. it’s the only org for me. i signed up to volunteer with the mentoring program the chapter has in my community for young girls, i used to swim on a team so feel aligned with at least one of the programs that the org has.
but i feel nervous bc the rest of the interests, and current chapter members are all like health related majors and want to be obgyns or something to do with post partum care, and i’m not. they all seem to connect really well and chitchat at all the events but it feels awkward bc i dont relate to the other girls. i do want to be a music teacher which technically is an educator and that’s how i can align myself with the org, but i don’t know how that will affect the chapters decision to allow me to be part of the process
is there anything i could do to help my situation?
also remember that we are an org of women from ALL professions despite being founded by 7 educators. our sorors know and recognize that when evaluating aspirants. we value diversity
