After I spent a week in a mental health facility following a suicide attempt it really opened my eyes to how debilitating mental health disorders can be. One of the patients I meet there had NPD and it kind of helped me realize how people who struggle with it are still human, not the ableist assumptions I had previously held. Maybe if I was closer to him and I felt like he hurt me I would be saying something else but I felt like y'all might appreciate this post. You are human. You are valuable. You deserve empathetic help and to be understood, and I'm not certain what experts have discovered can help with NPD yet, but please, hang in there. Admittedly my diagnosis (clinical depression and ADHD) already has a lot of established practices to help me, but I thought it was hopeless and it turns out it there is light at the end of the tunnel. Also this song really helped me so I thought I'd share it.
