Been following this group for some time now. In the last couple years I filed a Clean Slate Expungement for a list of criminal charges and a Judge ordered the expungement in September of 2022. The NJSP are still removing all of the charges from databases.
This is the kicker. I also had an involuntary commitment from 2008, in which is was committed for drug use into a MICA unit. After going through all the record collections, being evaluated by a licensed psychologist the Judge ordered the mental health records expunged and further ordered the removal of the commitment from the NICS database.
My worry is, is that after I get the letters confirming the records are removed what is the chance that there is a mistake and one record is still in NICS? Thankfully I do not live in NJ and in my state all that is required to purchase a firearm is a NICS check at the gun store.
I was thinking I could get another Identity History check from the FBI before I go buy a gun. Is there any way for check NICS because I do not want an erroneous denial. These two expungements cost me 15k and I want it all to go perfect.
