Seems like whenever the Cowboys are doing poorly or lose a big game, people go out of their way to dunk on them, and when they're doing good people get upset. And not just fans of rival teams; everyone seems to have a hate boner for the Cowboys.
Like, I'm a Seahawks fan. I don't want the Cowboys to win when my team is playing them, and if it affects our playoff standings I'll root against them. But aside from that? They're just another team in the NFL. People don't suddenly get up in arms when the Broncos or the Titans or even the division rival Eagles are ascendent. Why is the hatred for the Cowboys so acute?
I mean, think about it. Their fanbases aren't any more obnoxious than any other team's when they're playing well. (Trust me as someone who watched a friend suddenly change allegiances from the Steelers to the Packers in the mid-2010s.) They don't have any Deshaun Watson-type scumbags on their roster. They don't even get shoved down our throats as much as they were maybe 10 or 20 years ago when they were still being pushed as "America's Team". I can rattle off the names of 5 or 6 current or very recent owners that are demonstrably bigger assholes than Jerry Jones. They're not an evil empire the way the Patriots were the last two decades.
I'm not even saying you shouldn't hate the Cowboys. Just curious why people do, that's all.
They claim to be America's Team and have many bandwagon fans. Also I hate everything about Texas
