Trade Value of current player “On the Block”
Post Body

Hey all, just wondering as the season figures to wrap up and needs per team become more clear what the sub thinks the players who look to be on the trade block are and what they’re worth.

I thought this could be particularly interesting given that there are a fair amount of QBs that will likely be in new destinations or could fill needs in our future mocks that allow trades. With there being less tape for the guys coming in some teams may want to fill their needs with current players not picks.

I’ll include the QBs I think could be “on the block”, this means that they have a decent possibility of being traded in my eyes or players that teams will try to deal even if it’s isn’t likely. Feel free to include anyone else in the comments or dispute my reasoning for including your favorite player on the block or missing on the value of each player.

Gardner Minshew- Currently on a team with a one way ticket to Justin Fields but performed decent this year despite an injury and being on a bad team. Still young, with team control but Jacksonville will lose the leverage in a deal as soon as they get Fields. Probably would return a similar deal as Rosen did but with an additional pick included, maybe a two and a 3/4

Sam Darnold- Jets will likely get T Law and Darnold will be out. Some team might take a shot at the potential they saw in 2018. Although after the Rosen trade teams may be a bit more gun shy at throwing a pick towards a struggling young QB. Probably commands a 4

Dwayne Haskins- More likely cut at this point, although a team might throw a late round pick to stash him behind an older guy to develop. Commands a 6, 5 at the highest.

Jimmy G- Holding a team friendly contract that could mitigate the risk a team would take on him and put up 4000 yards last year while being on a NFC champ team. Probably goes for a 4th rounder

Matt Stafford- With a new Coach and GM on the way, Stafford might be dealt with eyes on a rebuild with a young QB that is coming in this draft. Also when healthy Stafford can produce making him palatable for teams like Washington, New England,or Denver who think they’re a QB away from having a good team. I think a team could overpay for him and give up a first but I’d try to give up a pair of day two picks for him and maybe a future one as well.

Kirk Cousins- Cousins has a less than ideal contract but the Vikings fans don’t seem thrilled with his work so far either. I don’t think Cousins moves with Stafford and Minshew available but I think the Vikings try to move him for a day two pick

Edit: removed players (Ryan and Wentz) due to misunderstanding dead money

Also apologies for the formatting... I’m on mobile
