EDIT:
So, the ice cartels strike again and forced my hand in adding an addendum to the Charter that now reads:
- 4.5: At the end of the initial player signing phase, owners can sign additional players to their roster, with no limit on how many they can sign.
This means that the 6 player maximum only counts for the initial player signing, to allow each team to hopefully fill up their rosters. However, once the signing period is over (which will be in a few days) owners can then sign additional players if they'd like, with no limit. Whether or not we'll still have an 18D salary cap remains to be seen, but right now I can say that it's likely to happen.
Thanks!
See Edit above^
So, the ice cartels have put sufficient pressure on me to make some minor rule changes to the league. First off, Brimstone has 9 players (3 more than the maximum 6) this season which I'm allowing for the following reasons:
They're the farthest away from any team in the league, meaning their players will have to travel the most. Having more of them ensures they'll be able to make it to the games. The rule of 6 players max is designed to keep a team from hoarding all the players and allow other teams to sign them. However, since Brimstone is so far away it's highly unlikely any of their players would want to play for any other teams, so by allowing them to sign more than 6 players we're not really hurting other teams' rosters.Six was an arbitrary number picked by us at the beginning of the league and hopefully we'll be able to increase the maximum roster for all teams soon if we get more players, but not right now. Maybe next season, we'll see.I'm still putting a few minor restrictions on them, like they can't exceed 18D in player salaries for the whole team and they can only sign their nine players for this season.
Notorious ice lord Pab-snow Escab-ice also demanded two more changes to the Official NDZHL Charter, if you haven't looked at it I recommend you do. The changes are:
All penalties are now 30 seconds long, rather than 15. I felt last season that penalties weren't affecting the game that much and causing a penalty wasn't such a detriment to your team as it should be.
Regular season games that are tied at the end of regulation are now draws, and so not go into sudden death overtime. The playoffs will still have sudden death overtime but combining elements of soccer with hockey ties will now end as draws without any overtime periods whatsoever.
A minor thing that's not even in the Official Charter is we'll likely be removing dyed leather helmets from the game. They were expensive and players would go through almost two helmets a game, so we're done with those. Try to incorporate helmets into your jersey design, a la Brimstone, or play without one. Pab-snow loves concussions.
That's all for now, let's hope the ice cartels don't demand any more. They have my family! D:
Thanks! :D
