Well it was a great Opening Day and I think a roaring success for the league as a whole. While Little Latvia unfortunately didn't have enough players (match to be made up at a later date to be determined), /u/DarkFlame826 was still nice enough to ref for a 2v2 match between the Mt. Augusta Avalanche and the Swisston Snow Shovels.

Mt. Augusta took a quick lead in the first period going up 2-0 before the intermission, /u/wanado144 scoring both goals. Swisston was able to mount an offense and began getting themselves more organized and yours truly was able to score a goal, with the help of my teammate /u/neondan99 and his beautiful passing skills.

However, Swisston was never able to tie it up as the Avalanche's /u/R3NNYB scored a goal, followed by another by Wanado. The final period started 4-2 with Swisston down, but the fans quickly got involved with speed pots which helped carry Swisston on to score another goal. However, the final nail in the coffin came when Wanado scored his fourth goal and Mt. Augusta's fifth, and while the Snow Shovels were able to answer for one of those they couldn't score the tying goal in a last second charge headed by neondan99. The clock ran out and the game was finished.

All in all, a great first game. The stats breakdown is as follows:
