This is supposed to be more of a fun post.
Let’s say tomorrow a study was released that convinced and proved to all the skeptics NDE’s are phenomena that do exist and occur. What aspects of science and the world would be thoroughly overturned?
Personally, I don’t think much would change. The normal everyday science we use would still govern normal everyday things. If anything, I’d imaging seeing more branches of science open up and begin researching things that are non-physical. Perhaps there’d be a giant surge of theologians and philosophers. Perhaps we have a giant surge of “myth” hunters.
My curiosity was peaked because I’ve had a couple of conversations with skeptics. They seem to think most of our sciences won’t survive such a discovery. I just wanted to hear the communities thoughts
EDIT: Small edit to make the question a bit cleaner as a few people have pointed out nobody is denying these experiences happen. So better wording would be, “what would have to be rethought if a separate consciousness was proven as the mechanism behind NDE’s”
