I’m very new the world of NDE’s (been researching them for about a week) and as I’m doing research I’m seeing quite a few studies depicting evidence of brain wave surges near death.
What’s confusing to me is most of the literature confirms upon the heart stopping, EEGs flatline 8-15 seconds after. Which is very fast and very soon. These newer studies seem to imply (and maybe that’s how I’m interpreting them) there is increasing brain activity up to the point of death which in itself seems contradictory to mainstream scientific belief.
I can acknowledge the surges can happen, because it is an extreme situation for the body. But, am I wrong for thinking this evidence seems more like correlation as opposed to causation? And am I wrong for feeling like this is a cop out to explain NDE’s with “brain stuff”?
These surges still don’t explain veridical NDE’s and why across cultures the experience is uniform.
