You can now download and install the game ahead of time on your Xbox, even if you didn't pre-order the digital version. But doing so is a little less straightforward than it should be. I had to load the Xbox app on my smartphone, add my xbox console to the app, and then look for the game in the store section of the app. Once I had the game pulled up on my smartphone, there was an option there to download/install the game on my console.

I couldn't find an option to do this directly using the console, which I think is a little odd. Hopefully this helps someone else who is getting the disc version save some time by having the game installed ahead of time. Happy release week!
