I see a lot of conversation in this community about what house rules people use to make things more challenging, and a lot of it comes down to sliders and recruiting philosophy. But one small thing I’ve done recently is trying not to redshirt all of my young players.
My rule is anybody under a 68, and only 1 player over that overall can be redshirted. I save this for a special recruit. There are some times where you have to redshirt a decent player (too many HBs, for example) but if you look at CPU teams, (especially P5) they have the majority of their players in their ‘true’ classes.
I’ve found I can recruit basically any warm body, stash them, and by the time they’re a super senior, it’s a guaranteed 20 OVR boost. But without redshirts it’s more of a 15 OVR boost, which really makes the difference in having an 87 star player and an 82 solid player. It makes things especially interesting with increased roster turnover.
Just my experience, thought someone else might like to try it.
