2k11 sound not working in hdmi

I downloaded 2k11 for my pc and connected it to the tv via hdmi. For some reason the in game sounds do not play on the tv. But sounds from all other apps work fine.
The sound works fine if I connect headphones or use the laptop speakers, just not on the tv.
I hope my explanation wasn’t too confusing 😅. Any ideas on how to fix are welcome.
