2K21 vs 2K22 for offline single player?

I have an Xbox Series X and my local GameStop store is closing down and selling both 2K21 and 2K22 heavily discounted, but which one should I buy?

I only play offline, and my last experience I really enjoyed playing 2K19 a few years ago with my main play mode being the one where you build up your own character in the team, starting from a rookie and then building up the player strengths and skills with each game.

So can anyone advise which was the most enjoyable please for Series X, 2k21 or 2K22? Thanks
