Any advice for someone who is trying to recruit the legends?

I find the long dungeons very boring and I have no idea how to speed up the process. The main issue is the low recruit rate but either way I'm in trouble ...if I go the level up by fight route I have to endure even more long dungeons
Or if I try to.farm Joy seeds I need to grind tons of gumming and my friendship is also taking forever to max I think I'm at 400 or so.IQ.
Why did they make the game so grindy??? Ugh
Is there another way to get better odds at recruits
