Duplicate Cards

A solid 85% of my rewards are cards I already have. If I send cards to the exchange I end up getting cards I already have. I've never spent a dime on anything in the game so it's not like I have too many cards. Even the free giveaways are mostly cards I already have. How can a game so unrewarding and frustrating maintain my interest like MyTeam does? Maybe I am just a hopeless optimist and deep down I'm convinced it will get better.
