Why the hell are Switch physical games only worth 1/5 the amount of Gold Points??
Post Body

After much saving and in large part as a gift, I recently got a Nintendo Switch. As excited as I was to jump into the new games, I was almost equally excited to finally have some Gold points in my account that I could sit and stare at and not spend on anything worthwhile.

Got around to setting the system up and when I go to register a couple of $60 titles like Mario Odyssey and BotW I see a nice little update in MyNintendo account for a 12 MEASLY GOLD POINTS EACH. I jump on the MyNintendo support page and see that physical software is only worth "one-fifth of the Gold Points that would be earned for the equivalent digital version".

Alright, now I'm kind of pissed off. Nintendo, if I had known I'd get shafted on this I could have purchased a digital copy for the full amount of useless gold points rather than just a fraction. For some reason I email customer support supposing it'll do something, and the only answer I get is something akin to "Well, it's better than it was for the Wii U so you you should be grateful you get anything at all."

The rep promises to forward my complaints to the nearest trash can.

I don't know why I'm even posting this here other than to say I'm getting sick of this service I had so much hope for.
