he really likes music and his slang is influenced by black culture (i'm not sure if in the Japanese subtitles are different) but he also says in the english dub when bakugo/todoroki were watching the kids "we should put some soul up into here.'

and now i think it was a bit of a miss, not to make present mike black. he's really silly and fun and i really kind of feel annoyed that one of their only black characters had an attitude the entire time. but i will give them the benefit that they made his lips normal.

I just wish that they made present mike black, its a bigger role compared to one of the side heros, and it would give a different representation of black people in japan.

does anyone else agree or disagree? or have any additional details I'm missing? i dont read the manga.

edit: also, black people tend to have a sterotype that theyre loud. but in the show, him being loud is a strength. i feel like it would've been perfect.
