Does anyone refer to characters by their first name?

Post Body
I got into a pretty heated debate with a friend over why I call MHA characters by their first name. Like I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I can't be the only person who calls Uraraka, Ochako and then Tenya and Shoto. I personally feel Japanese society is too formal and prefer calling a person I relate to by their first name. Is it bad to think this way?
