mnemonic phrase, trying to connect to meta mask

How to set that up? I got a private key, keystone file, but no mnemonic phrase is that normal? Could I get some friendly instructions on how to get that done?
Is this it? https://iancoleman.github.io/bip39 Cause I understand little on how that helps me. It seems more to create something entirely separate.
