MEW + Ledger Nano S (A simple guide)
Post Body

I posted this recently for a user who was having some confusion linking their Ledger Nano with MEW to safely store their tokens so I thought maybe others could benefit from this info too.

PREPARE YOUR NANO:

1) Plug in your Ledger, put in passphrase

2) Scroll to Ethereum, click both buttons

3) Scroll to Settings, click both buttons

4) Scroll to Browser Support, click both buttons

5) Scroll to Yes, click both buttons

6) Scroll to Back, click both buttons

Now that's ready... next...

SAFELY CONNECT TO MEW:

0) Before you begin PLEASE install the chrome plugin EtherAddressLookup to protect you from Phishing sites and to make it easy to look up your blockchain transactions! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/etheraddresslookup/pdknmigbbbhmllnmgdfalmedcmcefdfn

now...

1) Browse to https://www.myetherwallet.com/#send-transaction

2) Bookmark that URL and ONLY use that to browse there (security)

3) Enjoy the massive amounts of reading about security, or just click off to the side to make it go away

4) You will see a list of wallets, click on Ledger Wallet

5) Click the blue "Connect to Ledger Wallet" button

6) A popup will appear. Just ignore all this mess and click the blue "Unlock your Wallet" button.

7) On the right you will see your account address (lots of random letters and numbers). Copy that. Paste it somewhere like your URL bar really quick to make sure you copied it. LOOK AT IT MAKE SURE IT IS THE SAME!

8) Scroll down a little ways and click the little orange "Show All Tokens" button on the right.

9) Scroll through that list to make sure your token indeed is supported!

Now you need to transfer...

TRANSFERRING FROM AN EXCHANGE TO MEW:

1) Go to your exchange wallet balance page and click the Withdraw button beside the token you want.

2a) Paste your MEW address in there and specify your amount then click Submit.

2b) You may receive an email confirmation first, confirm it of course.

3) You should now be able to track your transaction on the blockchain if you wish...

4) Go back to your MEW page and scroll down through the list of tokens again to the token you just sent and click on its name to load it. Once the tx is complete the balance will always show up in that little box where the orange button is.

If you ever want to use the Ledger Ethereum app you will need to go back into your Ledger's Ethereum app Settings and turn back OFF Browser Support.

Also please pay attention to the FEES you are paying when you withdraw, some of these tokens are a bit pricy to move around. Also know transactions can take a little while with the network as clogged as it is so be patient, watch a tv show or something while it transfers haha!

Hope this helps, be safe out there and good luck :)
