What, if anything, can be done here?

As you can see, the leather wrapping on the top part of the steering wheel is not in good condition anymore, with the outer layer gone, and the underlying rough leather exposed. The car is a 2011, so it’s understandable.
The question is, is there anything I can do to improve it?
