“…pairs” in Sura An-Naba = western concept of “soulmates”?

I’m wondering if the famous verse in Surah An-Naba 78:8 “and we created you in pairs” fits in the context of the western notion of soulmates. What does this verse mean to you? That you have a ‘twin flame’ of the opposite gender in this Dunya and the akhira? If so, what are the implications for Dunya? Should we wait to find this person on earth? How does this square with the multiple wives situation in Islam?
