Hi r/Music.
After what has been a fair amount of years of being quite an avid Pink Floyd fan, I have constantly (for a while now) wondered - Am I alone here?
Why is it that Dark Side of The Moon is so universally revered as Pink Floyds greatest work?
Am I missing out on something here? I (personally) believe it to be possibly their least overwhelming and unentertaining. To be honest, I much prefer 'Momentary Lapse of Reason' (my all-time favourite of their work), as well as 'The Final Cut', 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Division Bell'.
Frankly, Dark Side Of The Moon tends to bore me at the best of times and I end up skipping the filler tracks. Every time I hear someone speak of how amazing Dark Side is, it's almost like half these people have never truly listened to all Pink Floyd albums enough to make up their minds fairly. But then I hear about how Dark Side will be granted (above all other albums) a monumental 6-Disc edition? Is Dark Side of The Moon just the 'safe' album that people choose to favourite? Or does everyone really just believe it to be that incredible?
Because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here!?!
