What are the darkest concept albums ever?

Rather than albums built around a made up concept to be taken literally - im looking for semi-conceptual albums that have metaphorical themes which the song lyrics allude to but with the true subject being real life circumstances. Searching for brooding and epic metaphorical concept ideas. Help much appreciated - is part of a music study of mine
