Can I trust Spotydl?

I apologize if this isn't the right place to post this, but I want to download high quality music and Spotydl seems to be the way to do this, but whenever I try to download it, Google Chrome prevents me from downloading it. It says that I can stop Chrome from doing this in Chrome settings, but then I don't want to download something that's going to harm my computer.
