Why is Julian Lage so highly regarded?

I see many people and musicians hold Julian Lage in such high regard, but when I listen to his music, nothing really jumps out to me. Is there something he is doing that I am not noticing? I do like jazz and classical type guitar and his music is always recommended to me by others and streaming algorithms. I think if someone explained to me why he is so great then maybe it will start to click for me the next time I listen to his music.
