I've been in a nostalgic mood today and was listening to a lot of rock bands I listened to as a teenager (2005 - 2012). You got your bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot etc.
Most of these bands are still pumping out music. But it got me wondering... what recently formed bands are working in the space right now? That sort of half space between rock and metal that has enough mainstream appeal to attract large numbers of fans/you'd hear on the radio. I can find bands in the more niche genre's with no problem, but nothing that really ticks the boxes of mainstream rock anymore...
I appreciate that as a genre, it's just not as attractive as it once was. But disregarding all of that for a moment, I was just wondering if some people here who keep up to date with this stuff could share we me some examples of new bands who perhaps fit into this profile I mentioned and look like they could make a lot of noise over the coming years!
