Innoculated logs with plug spawn over a year ago, still no mushrooms?
Post Body

Last year I bought three different plug spawns from fungi perfecti - blue oyster, pearl oyster and lion's mane - and innoculated six large (6" diameter) tulip poplar logs from a tree that I cut down in my back yard. The logs were not 100% freshly cut when innoculated... I would estimate they sat for two or three weeks before plugging them.

Right before the first frost last year, some of the oysters appeared (can't remember which... I think it was the blue), but I haven't seen any activity since then. I've soaked them in a kiddie pool for a day to encourage some growth, but still no luck. I did that the Saturday before last. The logs are on sitting on milk crates in the shady area of my back yard.

Any ideas? Did I do something wrong or am I just being impatient? We've had a ton of rain lately, so I kinda figured I would see at least a few by now.
