Hello fellow fungisters.

So ive began small experiments with Liquid cultures, and so far, they seem to be coming along nicely!
I have so far made:

  • A Turkey tail LC
  • A Reishi LC
  • A Pes. Amazonian LC, &
  • A "Swiss Chunk" LC.

I'm pleased to say they're all doing really well, with the turkey tail being supprisingly the slowest to develop, as on agar it wasnt far behind the Reishi; my two fastest agar mycs.

Anyway, i digress,

I created this post to ask those of you whom are already well versed in LCs for an answer to:

  1. How you have gone about attaching your syringe filters and self-healing injection ports to your lids
  2. Are there any particular adhesives that are favourable for this?
  3. For the self-healing injection ports, ive noticed the dimensions on most 20mm sized ones online say that they fit into a 13.2mm hole. Has anybody had success using a 13mm or even a 12mm drill bit and friction fitting these to the lids only and no adhesive??
  4. I have noticed people use lids of every type for mason jar LCs, as they come in single piece plastic, single piece metal, and two piece metal. Is there one better than the rest?? (i think its safe to assume the 2 piece metal

My 4 baby LCs are doing so well that i thought i'd go all in and make a LC for every strain of fungus i grow.

As i plan to do this with all strains on agar anyway to isolate the nicest/healthiest looking mycelium, i figured it only makes sense to make a LC out of that said healthy sexy mycelium.
