I recently received a spore syringe - upon arrival, it looked like the spores were clumped in a ball near the middle of the syringe.

I shook it vigorously and it looked like the clump broke into multiple parts, but it was still clumpy.

I am working with agar, so I applied a single drop onto the center of the petri dish.

That was on the 5th, so perhaps it is still too early to expect to see any growth, but is it possible that there wasn't a significant amount of spores in that single drop? How long should I wait before giving up on that dish?
