Does anyone have experience with heat treatments for pests?
Post Body

We realized last year that our freezer is not actually cold enough to kill pests/eggs - it's a standard commercial chest freezer and it doesn't get down to -20F. I would really rather not buy a more expensive model, and I've been reading about using the sun to provide sufficient heat to kill pests in a shorter time. (At the moment, the only objects we really need to treat are antique carpetbags, so the perfect type of object to treat this way - no plastic, etc.)

I am getting a little pushback because this is not the usual method we're all used to, and I wanted to see if this is actually in more use in other museums/by conservators than we may be aware.
