I suspect the answer is no, but I've got to ask.
Long before I got here, my museum migrated from PastPerfect to Skinsoft. (I believe this was done because we needed a cloud-based system due to our partnership with a local graduate program, and it was the only option.) To cut the whole story short, it has not been a good system in a number of ways, and now we're moving to TMS.
The problem is that there are only two options for getting your data back out: exporting to spreadsheets or paying $5k to Skinsoft. We exported and imported a small number of records via spreadsheet and the result was very rough for a number of reasons, but partly because the spreadsheets aren't relational - this method totally detaches exhibition records and location history from the objects, for instance. So we've paid them for the rest, and have gotten xml and csv files that GallerySystems can't work with. Trying to get further assistance from Skinsoft is like talking to a brick wall; they clearly see themselves as done with us (even though we've paid for this whole year).
We're all despairing here of ever getting the project finished and being able to use a single database. It occurred to me that maybe, possibly there is someone else here who works at an institution that used Skinsoft and transitioned away, and has gone through this already?
