How do I make my instruments sound... like instruments?

Post Body
Hiya subreddit! I'm a newbie to Musescore (and annotating music in general) and I've been trying to work on making some pieces of my own, but I've run into a bit of a problem, for me at least! Listening back to my own work, the instruments don't sound convincing, especially not in the same way that I've heard the other composers who post their musescore pieces sound. I'm confused why mine is different! Anyone have any idea how to make the instruments sound more instrumenty? lol, thanks in advance!
