....and HOLY SHIT did it exceed expectations! (This post is just me gushing about the show by the way. Spoiler alert.)

I decided that I wasn’t gonna watch any live videos of the tour or look up the setlist so that I could maintain the element of surprise. All I saw before were some pictures on here that I couldn’t scroll past fast enough.

First off, the beginning. Are you kidding me?? The nerve of Matt Bellamy to slowly emerge from the stage holding up the fucking Power Glove or whatever the fuck. And they’ve got the neon trombones at it? This is the most overdramatic and absolutely perfect way to kick it off.

Next— Dig Down GOSPEL with the neon choir in the background?? The piano Chris on bass acoustic guitar combo?? Ahhh

And they played Take a Bow?? You have no idea the feelings of grandeur I felt as I heard “Burnnnn in hellllll yeah you’ll burnnnn in hellll!” Wow.

And just as the show is getting toward the end I’m thinking “Where’s that big robot thing that I’ve seen in a few pictures?” I thought for a while that maybe it would just be on the screens— because how the hell are they gonna fit that giant thing on that relatively small stage?

But no. The break ends and just as they launch into the beginning of Stockholm Syndrome this guy (Murph?) fucking ERUPTS from the stage like Satan himself with those reaching claws and gnashing teeth! I might have nightmares.

And I got to see New Born live! (kinda) And Assassin! And the Micro Cuts outro riff! No one warned me that it would be the best night ever!

Anyway, sorry for rambling, but it was a great show. They outdid themselves yet again. Also, I finally get the “needs more Algorithm” jokes now so that just earns bonus points.
