Reasonable accommodations and switching positions
Post Body

Hello 48m US with RRMS. Just wanting some advice and/or your personal experiences when asking for reasonable accommodation and a job change. My current position in the pharmaceutical field has been donning a lot of ppe and heavy cleaning that results in overheating and just makes my work day miserable. My Neuro has suggested asking for accommodation but there is really no way to accommodate my condition in my current role and so I am going to ask to be moved to a different area where I do not have to perform this type of work. My company has a fairly decent track record of finding positions for people who have health issues but I am still extremely nervous about all of this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Update: After getting my Neuro to write a letter detailing my conditions and limitations I was able to take a position that does not require any of the physical labor associated with my previous position. HR was quick to act on my request after receiving the letter and I now have a desk position in the same area, which is nice since I already have established relationships. I just wanted to share some good news with you all!
