Post Body

Happy Hump Day y'all! My doc just started me on modafanil as needed for my crippling fatigue. Unfortunately, I often also have terrible insomnia, and after my first 100 mg of modafanil today, I feel like I just huffed a bunch of cocaine and will never sleep again. Does anyone use cannabis or trazadone or any other meds to help safely come down off of modafanil? I'm going to try 50 mg tomorrow and see if that makes me feel less like a tweaker, but I would surely love to sleep at some point tonight. All advice welcome and appreciated!

UPDATE 8/8/24: Wanted to share in case any other newbies stumble across this post in future and are trying to learn more about others' journeys with this med. I tried 50 mg today, upon waking, about two hours before drinking half my normal coffee, and today has been much better side-effects-wise than yesterday. The jury is still out on whether it is really giving me much additional energy (I have good days and bad days naturally, and today just feels like a moderate-good day) My attention still feels much more scattered than my baseline. One stranger side effect that has happened two days in a row is I will get ravenously hungry, but then only be able to eat about a half portion of what I usually eat before I feel extremely full. Has anyone else had this symptom? Does it go away? Thanks again to everyone who shared their experiences and advice yesterday, this community is the best ❤️

I take modafinil for fatigue and immovane for sleep for years.
