Hey, folks! I started Kesimpta a few weeks ago after almost 6 years on Tysabri which I loved, but monthly infusions were just getting burdensome.
I injected my third loading dose last night into my thigh and although I still haven't fully gotten past the anxiety of injecting myself and the initial pain of the needle, last night after the first three or so seconds, I felt a really sharp pain from the needle while waiting for the window to clear. It was very different from the initial sting that I've been trying to get over and made me even more nervous for my next injection in a couple of weeks.
This happened to a much lesser degree with my second injection -- it almost feels like the first few seconds I feel a slight sting from the needle entering and then nothing, but at the end it's like I can feel exactly where the needle is and that it is in my skin and it hurts.
The discomfort of an IV was super easy to me maybe because I've been poked and prodded so much, but there just seems to be much more of an ouch factor with Kesimpta so far.
Any advice or shared experience?
E: to answer a couple of recurring questions, yes the alcohol is completely dry, yes I've done both my stomach and thighs, and yes the pen is room temperature...which is honestly a bummer because if any of these things were off, then it would be easy to fix!
