My family don't want me to use the term "deadname".

Post Body
When I first used it, simply to describe why they shouldn't deadname someone else, my sister cried because she thought that meant that she couldn't have her old memories of me. My mom has told me to use "former name" and I've tried telling them that this is just the term we use and it just means I don't want that name spread around or to hear it. They really don't get it which is what I kind of expected but it's really annoying. Thoughts?
