I've been going through the whole name changing process and it has been so exhausting. I wasn't really able to find a good step by step maybe because it varies so much by state. After 3 attempts I was able to get my name change petition accepted, I efiled for multiple reasons convenience mainly but also I just have crazy anxiety around court houses and any like that.( lots of trouble as a little one and I'm just anxious in general lol) So yeah then I had to post a legal ad in the a big local paper, x amount of days before a return date. That was an interesting experience I placed the ad and they were like oh you forgot something 😳 we canceled and refunded you, but send us a copy of your citation and we can do it for you. Did thay the refund wouldn't go through so they just put in in for the next day which was pretty cool.

Now this is where and why I'm writing I know sorry for rambling I just have to share... I'm sorry lol

I had to send proof of this ad, that's all the court papers said I had to fill one out just saying yes I did do qhat you've asked in the time you've given. The paper was using the word affidavit, and I'm like yeah sure that sounds legal I'll need one. But all I got was a receipt and a like copy of the ad in the paper with the other ads. So that's what I sent in with the signed paperwork. (Which said needed to be in 14 days before return date which it's going to actually be more like 5 days) ans I'm just gah!!! I'm so scared I'm going to have screwed up somehow again.

Tdlr (or w.e the heck it is) I'm so damn anxious waiting to find out if my name change will be approved and really hoping I ain't fuck up the paperwork which I've done many times now lol
