Effects of HRT on your finger nails?

I've been on HRT for a little over a year (4 mg estradiol sublingual, 200 mg spiro), and I've also started wearing a lot more nail polish. The last time I took the nail polish off, I found that my nails had started flaking a little under the polish. Is that a common side effect of HRT or am I just wearing nail polish too much?
