Like many, I was raised in a very LGBTQ phopbic home. We used the whole "Not a real <insert gender> bullshit" when describing trans people etc. However, my parents had me who was born intersexed via Hypogonadism. I had a vulva, no vaginal canal, and 2 very small testes in a pocket of skin. With my parents being upstanding fundamentalists with me being their last shot at having a son, they cut me a penis and raised me as a male. I never felt right my entire life. Always thought of myself as a girl (I had 2 older sisters). My dad didn't tell me any of the stuff about being born until I was 16 then didn't give me the full story till I was over 30. When I was 16 and was told about my reconstructions (I had 3-5 surgeries as a child, wasn't given explanations) I asked "Am I really a girl"? My dad quickly interjected that I was a "boy" and that I had XY chromosomes.
Now here's my main point-- Anti trans people love using the "not a real" whatever argument. However, they are quick to affirm cis women who go through menopause or if someone has to have their testes, uterus, or other sex organs removed as being a "real" whatever.
The same applies to Trans people. You are what you feel you are. You are valid. You are a real woman. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
