How do you see humanity and democracy in a positive way?

Like, the majority of voters either want to oppress us or don't give a fuck about us. Trump won. Fair and square. This isn't like last time, he got much of the popular vote too. There's not massive protests like there were last time, everyone seems to just be accepting this.
How do I think the people should be heard when the people are terrible? How do I love humanity when they want me dead?
