I'm a university student and have been applying to tech internships, and I can't shake the feeling that being trans limits me a lot. I get the feeling I'm overlooked in favour of normal, cis women at many big companies. I get the feeling people are uncomfortable when talking to me in an interview.
I've also noticed most sites here just have white, usually blonde women in their "meet our team" list and it's making me wonder if there's a racist bias there too. I'm in the Netherlands for context. I'm not black and I probably look eastern european in terms of "ethnicity" but when I looked at teams I see literally only thin, pretty white and sometimes asian women. It's starting to weigh down on me recently. I can't shake the feeling that if I was just someone else, I'd get hired much more easily.
