Over the weekend I attended a self defense class for marginalized genders. I was a little nervous going in about being perceived as a man in woman’s spaces and all that terfy shit. I showed up and at first I was the only AMAB person and I mostly kept to myself but another girl invited me to come sit with her and her friend as we were waiting for the class to start. Eventually another AMAB person showed so I was glad I didn’t end up being the one. But everyone was really supportive and welcoming and didn’t treat me any differently than anyone else. There was a lot of practicing yelling “stop!” And “no!” which kind of sucked for my voice dysphoria but overall It was a really great experience and I hope they host another one soon.
