(US) Anyone else mad at everyone for not voting?
Post Body

"Everyone" being everyone that I know. My family, my friends. Not one of them are voting, not one of them care. Excuses ranging from not wanting to vote because the canadites are a pick of the shineyist of two turds, the vote doesn't matter, all politicians are worthless, and/or my life is to busy. My life and liberties as a trans person are at risk here, the right to abortion is at risk here. People are DYING! The fact that I am the only one I know in my life that cares about people dying because they can't get access to reproductive health care infuriates me. That my own siblings don't care enough to fight for theirs trans sisters right to exist. My own sister's don't give a damn about it either! What if they were to be at risk of dying because of these bans! Would they care then! I'm pissed that when I try my best to explain to them how important this is to me, how important it is to my existence and so to many people in this country, they don't care. It only makes them Ignore me angrily. I am convinced that if this country did start locking up trans people up to exterminate them, that my family would stand by and do nothing and allow me to be slaughtered. They would stand by and watch me die, because that's exactly what it feels like when they stand by and don't participate in crucial elections like this one. An election that will literally determine the path of civil rights in this country. I'm convinced my family and friends are the type to stand by and watch any minority get squashed as long as they feel it doesn't affect their lives. When German people are commenting and telling us to please watch out and be careful because history is repeating itself means this is no laughing matter. This is real, this is happening.

I feel so very alone knowing I have no one in my life that cares enough to fight for my right to exist, or for birthing people's right to reproductive health care. That they are so deceived they believe they have no voice, and that it's all hopeless. It's a voluntary helplessess.

To all those that are apolitical or apathetic to politics, that's still a political stance. Let me ask real quick. Will you be so apathetic about politics when your daughter or sister dies due to pregnancy complications that could have easily been avoided, but because of abortion bans they died. Will you be so politically apathetic when loved ones are exterminated or opt to off themselves because of an oppressive legislation that bans trans people from being themselves? When will you care? Will you care when they try to take away even more rights after that? Or will you sit there like you have no power, while your family and country men are beaten and killed.
