Got told Antidepressants cause Gender Dysphoria...

I got told that I might not have Gender Dysphoria or even want to be trans and that it's all just side effects of the Antidepressant, I've been like this since I can remember and I've started having depression from it over a decade ago. I started taking anti depressants for a few months now for the first time ever and have came out to one person but the excuse I was given was that it's not really me it's just the medication. I didn't really know how to react and I can't find anything about it. Anyone experience this as well?
