Has HRT effected anyone’s ability to tolerate darker content?
Post Body

I’m not sure if it’s HRT or if it’s something else but recently my ability to tolerate darker subjects in media like sa, excessive gore and other things along those lines has decreased significantly, for example, i had to stop reading a webtoon because the antagonist was genuinely hurting my mental health, and just now i tried to watch Gen V, the spin off show of the The Boys, but i couldn’t even get halfway through the first episode before feeling sick and having to turn it off, has anyone else experienced something similar?

Edit: I’m 8.5 weeks on hrt, just incase that’s relevant

Comments

I'm almost 3 years into HRT and Androgen blockers. I was really empathetic before (ex. crying about movies with sad dogs etc) now I seem to be even more. I can pull feelings from other people around me, espcially other women. It's almost like I am picking up on pheromones or something. If someone cries, chances are I won't be very far behind them.
