Can y’all help me think through the pros and cons of orchiectomy?
Post Body

Ok so, I know that ultimately this is my decision, but I keep going round and round on it, so I feel like having some external perspectives might help.

PROS:

I wouldn’t have to have them on my body.

No risk of the Pain Orbs getting bumped in the wrong way and bringing the bad feels. Thus increasing my power.

I could wear cute underwear without them popping out!

Cut off the major source of testosterone forever. Thus, I may be able to lower my estrogen dose, which may be better for my body long term. Also might not have to do injections, which are fine but annoying.

Some people report increased feminization? Though since my E levels are already high and T is suppressed this doesn’t seem likely.

Might alleviate bottom dysphoria.

CONS:

Always a risk of complications, even though it’s a relatively minor and simple surgery.

Some reports of “bounceback androgen effects” from backup glands starting to overproduce T. Thus, may need to go on an antiandrogen for a while, which can have unwanted side effects.

Irreversible. This is partly a pro, but it also feels like a huge thing in a way that HRT kinda didn’t, because I was able to tell myself that I could always stop if I didn’t like it (spoiler: I like it a lot).

I’ll be dependent on external sources of hormones for life. This could become a problem if supplies get interrupted.

I’m afraid it might look and/or feel weird in a way I don’t like.

If I ever get bottom surgery, it can make some techniques harder to perform.

I think that’s it?

Anyone who’s contemplating orchi or has gone through it, are there pros / cons not on this list? Are there any you didn’t know about till after? Any you wish you’d considered?

And anyone else, any thoughts?

So, your con list is a little skewed. It's NOT a invasive surgery. I just had another consult. Literally a small incision and 2 cuts.

Invasive would be like a heart surgery. This is out patient and process lasts a few hours and you got home after.
