Why do most people in my life assume I’m a trans masc when they find out I’m former military? I’m 20 MTF…
Post Body

Little Bit of a rant: Kinda venting but also find it funny cause a lot of people who know I’m trans if I don’t directly tell them I’m a trans female the assumption is I’m a trans man. Why? Well because I’m former US Army. Even tho I’d say 75% of my friends from the army are female. I get that traditional the military has up until recent history been a „man’s job“ but it’s 2024 and my name is Dianna, been on E for a year and a month now, dress in gothic and pastel, love to wear make up and dresses, and I’m trans. Like don’t get me wrong, sure all that could be assumed that I’m a trans femboy cause even tho I’ve never met one I do imagine trans men who identify as femboys do exist. But I think the thing that would tip someone off that I’m not a man is my name is DIANNA. So I ask, what part of me outside of the military sounds like I’m a man? Why is it assumed I’m a man because I am former military? Oh btw anytime someone introduces me because I ask them to keep the trans thing down low cause unless I’m dating that person they don’t need to know I’m trans. Atleast that’s how I personally feel about my identity. So I’m introduced often as fem or as a woman. Not as trans or cis, just as a woman. And been told I pass to. So idk why I keep having people equat me being military to me being a man. And also thing is I’m not assuming that’s why either. I’ve been outride told „Oh I thought you were a guy cause X said you were a soldier.“
