Question for the programmer and professional tech girlies: Have you found it harder to interview and get hired for new positions since transitioning?
Post Body

I find myself in a bit of an awkward position regarding whether to interview in boymode or not: I'm 8 months into medical transition and have only just started to girlmode in public and around friends, but was still boymoding at my old job up through when I got laid off a few weeks back. Now I'm getting back on the interview grind and applying for new position, and I can't decide whether or not to make the jump to girlmode professionally as well or if I should keep boymoding and come out only after I've gotten hired and settled in for a few months.

I've got a decent amount of experience in tech so I'm pretty privileged in terms of hireability these days, even in a job market as rough as tech is lately, but I'm afraid that being a visibly trans woman could make it harder to get hired or taken seriously for senior positions. Have any of y'all had experience with getting hired for SWE or general tech roles while being a non-passing transfem? Did it feel like interviewers were harsher on you, or like you weren't considered as much of a "first rate candidate" as you were pre-transition? Did you find that you were getting lowballed on compensation compared to before? Did recruiters reach out to you less often?
